In short
- Be kind – also when you lose.
- Play fair.
- Respect other people’s boundaries.
- Protect other people’s privacy.
- If something is wrong: tell us.
Where this code applies
- in the online game play.nummix.de (opens in a new tab): in chat, in names and profiles, in teams, groups and tournaments
- on our Discord and on Instagram
- at nummix nights, game meetups and events like 40c3
- when you contact the nummix team – by email, contact form or feedback
What we hope for
- Patience. Some people are new, some think longer. Both are fine.
- Winning and losing gracefully. Enjoy good moves – other people’s too.
- Offer help, don’t push it. Ask before you explain how to do it “right”.
- Respect different ways of playing. Some want to chat, others need quiet to think. Some need breaks, clear agreements or less hustle. Ask each other what helps.
- Keep children and teenagers in mind. nummix is meant for all ages.
What is not okay at nummix
- insults, threats and harassment – including via invitations or messages
- discrimination, for example based on origin, skin colour, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, neurodivergence, illness, age, appearance, religion or beliefs
- sexual or adult content, including in names and profile pictures
- sharing other people’s personal data, such as addresses, photos or messages, without consent
- taking photos or videos of people at meetups without asking first
- cheating: collusion, several of your own accounts in one game, or programs that play for you. Please report bugs instead of exploiting them.
- spam and advertising
If you experience or witness something
- In the online game: Report people with the flag ⚑ next to their name in chat or in the player list – or on their profile. You can also block them there; blocked people can no longer invite you.
- At meetups: Talk to the nummix team or the people hosting the meetup.
- Any time: Write to us via the contact form or at info@nummix.de.
We treat every report confidentially and won’t share your name if you don’t want us to. If you’re unsure: better report once too often. In an emergency, call 112.
What happens next
- Automatically in chat: An auto-moderator holds back messages with offensive or adult terms before anyone sees them. Every message held back counts as a warning. After several warnings the game automatically suspends an account – first for 24 hours, then for 7 days. Guests can no longer play after several warnings.
- After a report: A person from the nummix team reviews it. Depending on the case, we give a reminder, change a name or profile, or suspend an account temporarily or permanently. Watching games remains possible during a suspension.
- At meetups: Anyone who doesn’t follow this code will be spoken to and may be asked to leave.
Do you think a decision was wrong? Write to us – in the game via “Give feedback” or via the contact form. We’ll take another look.
For the nummix team
This code applies to us as well. Whoever moderates makes comprehensible decisions, gives the reason for a suspension and stays out of their own disputes.
Origin and updates
This code is based on the Contributor Covenant (external link) (version 2.1). We develop it further with the community – suggestions are welcome via the contact form.
